The motor pulley on my dryer is broken, it will not tighten up. Do I replace the pulley or the whole motor, it only tightens on the shaft so much, and then it slips loose again ??????????
PERFORIIIA DRYER !!!!!!!!!

Answer Rafiq, Apparently you have cross threaded the motor pulley onto the motor shaft. You will have to replace the motor 2200376, the drive pulley is no longer available as a separate component, as stated in the AppliancePartsPros.com,and other parts web sights.
The plastic piece off motor melted off. Do i have to replace the whole motor or can I buy this piece separately.
Also why do you think this occurred.
For the plastic piece that melted off the motor then you would need to replace the motor. You will also want to check the venting as it sounds like the motor could be overheating.
What are the steps for replacing the motor pulley whirlpool part AP3890688 in a crosley dryer?
Answer Sonja, After you remove power to the dryer, raise the top panel and remove the front panel(s) you'll need to remove the drum and belt. You then use a 7/16 in. open end wrench or an adjustable wrench on the front of the drive motor shaft, there is a flat area on the shaft. Use a pair of "vise grips" or an adjustable wrench and turn the drive pulley to the right (reverse threads) to loosen and remove the pulley. The pulley can be extremely tight and hard to remove. Reverse the procedure and test run the dryer.
Will the pulley Part #AP3890688 fit my dryer drive motor?
Answer Hello Lou. Pulley Not Available Separately. You must replace the motor 2200376.
Is this the pulley I need for my dryer motor part 8571882? I ordered a motor locally with a part # W10448896 but the pulley seems to be on the wrong side.
Answer Al, according to the model number given the motor pulley listed for your appliance is part number 8571883. The drive motor, W10448896 is correct per your model. It is a manufacturer replacement part and may differ in appearance but is a functional equivalent to the original. Thanks.
