Replaced motor/pump assy and tested. seems to work fine until draining sequence. old pump had high flow draining but the new one is barely pumping out water and seems to be still washing in the tub while trying to drain. checked all hoses and connections, tried old and brand new check valves etc. the only weird thing I see is the new motor has a harness that has the red and gray wires transposed on the end that plugs into the control panel harness. this is different than the color sequence on the old motor plug that connects to the control panel harness. can you verify that the wires are supposed to be transposed on one end of the new motor harness?

When purchasing the W10428023 assembly (Dia. part 17), it says the pump gasket must be purchased separately, but in the images (for W10428023 assembly) it appears to look like the gasket is part of the assembly. Do you need to purchase the part, if you are buying the whole assembly? Also, is the pump centering tool (Dia part 31) necessary when replacing the whole unit? Thanks for you help.

Apparently this is the substitute replacement for motor/pump assembly for my old kenmore ultra wash. This motor/pump replacement came with an relay which I'm not sure what it is for and where to put it and use it with wiring. (i.e I don't see any wires or jumpers). I'm totally in the dark on this as this motor/pump configuration did not come with instructions or wiring diagram. I was just assuming that it was an extra part for perhaps a different washer ?
