Watching video on how to replace drain pump ( part #W10348269) on your site. It shows that I need to fully remove the dishwasher from the cabinet. I do not want to do this as I have new wood floors and do not want to scratch them.
Other UTube videos show that this part can be replaced without removing the dishwasher from the cabinet.
Can you tell me if I can replace this part without removing the entire dishwasher from the cabinet?
Answer Annette, No, the dishwasher does not have to be removed from the cabinet. It makes it a lot easier if you do. You can attempt to remove the drain pump through the removal of the kick plate and lower access panel. It's a tight squeeze and a little difficult to work around under the dishwasher. Another approach is to remove the pump assembly from the tub through the door, You'll need to remove the racks and spray arm and manifold pipe, disconnect the drain hose and wire harness, then remove the pump mounting tabs and lift the pump up and out of the tub. Make sure you turn the power off to the dishwasher, and be ready to clean up and dry out any water spillage.
Is there a way to test drain pump 8559995 with a multi meter.
You will have to access the drain pump and turn the unit on a drain and spin and test for 120 vac at the drain pump to see if there is power. If there is 120 vac but not draining then the issue would be a faulty pump. Make sure that there is nothing clogged in the pump.
