In the pumping stage my dishwasher makes a terrible grinding noise like something is in the pump. The dishwasher workes fine through the washing cycle but during the draining cycle the grinding comes back and is extremely loud. Should I just replace the pump?

We just had a new well installed and it is drawing sand through the faucet. Will this affect the dishwasher as it draws water into for a wash cycle? Will I have to clean it out eventually? How will I know when it needs to be cleaned out. Or will I need to replace a filter somewhere? thanks.

Hi. I've had it 6 years. The top rack especially doesn't clean well. I'm thinking I need a Part Number AP4362441 MFG Part Number W10192799-pump filter. Your thoughts? Thanks. Jim G.

I have the same issue as Mike Dishwasher has a heavy build up of material in cups. We have extremely hard wader in our home. I removed all parts to clean them and there was massive build up of detergent and water minerals. The filter seemed to be dirty on the inside but I could not open to clean completely. The dishwasher worked well for 3 months but is back to same issue. At this point I am considering buying a new filter and adding a water filter to the water line that leads to the dishwasher. Before I do so any way to fully clean the filter? Again all the micro filter sections are clearly blocked from the inside.

The dishwasher starts in short cycles then cuts off. It runs about a minute at most. The water will not drain out. The disposal works fine. I suspect something may be clogged but I don't know what.

Glasses and cups in the upper rack had food particles inside after a wash cycle. I removed the filter but could not find a way to clean it. The replacement part diagram shows a single pump filter plate (part # AP4362441) and apparently no way to take it apart for cleaning. If there is not a way to clean the filter, how often should it be replaced? My dishwasher is 5 years old and the filter was completely clogged. Thanks for the information.

My dishwasher sprays water out of the upper arm, but it does not spin. I can manualy spin it freely. It is not bound up. The filter is clean. The lower arm spins very slowly. The impeller looks fine and the shaft is not bent. The tub fills up to bottom of the element. Is this a motor problem? or something else?
