I have a Maytag Bravos Top Loading Washer, and it has developed a leak during the spin cycle. At first, I thought it might be coming from the drain pump (I wish it was b/c it would be easy to fix), but after taking the back panel off and watching the machine run, I see that water is thrown from the rotor on the bottom of the wash tub. I had read on your forum about changing the mounting stem & boot seal and tub bearings on a different unit, but there is no such kit for this model. I have checked all of my hose connections, clamps, and pumps, and they are not the source of my water leak. I did find a Tub Seal / Bearing kit (presumably for my washer MFG# W10435302) on another site. Any thoughts on replacing the bearings and tub seal on this washer?
Damon for Model Number MTW6600TB0
Answer Damon,
You would want to replace the tub seal and bearing kit W10435302 to correct the leak. In addition to getting the tub seal, there is a tool that you need to remove the old seal and install the new one.
My Maytag Bravos had been making loud noises while it was draining during the spin cycle, now it is showing an error code of F50 and wont do anything. Is this a pump issue?
Diana for Model Number Mtw6600tb0
Answer Hello Diana. F then 50 flashes when the motor rotor
position sensor (RPS) senses no rotation.
? Does basket turn freely? If not, make sure
bottom shipping pack has been removed.
Determine cause of friction. This test checks the wiring to the motor and rotor
position sensor; and the motor and rotor position sensor
themselves.
NOTE: Drain water from tub.
1. See Activation of Manual Diagnostic Test Mode,
page 3 and check the motor and electrical
connections by performing the Spin test under
Manual: Motor, page 2. The following steps assumes
that this step failed.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check to see if basket will turn freely.
? If basket turns freely, go to step 4.
? If basket does not turn freely, determine what is
causing the mechanical friction or lock up.
4. Remove the console to access the machine/motor
control assembly. See Accessing & Removing the
Electronic Assemblies, page 6.
5. Visually check that the P5 and P10 connectors are
inserted all the way into the machine/motor control.
? If visual checks pass, go to step 6.
? If visual checks fail, reconnect P5 and P10 and
repeat step 1.
6. Visually check that the P5 and P10 connectors are
inserted all the way into the machine/motor control.
? With an ohmmeter, verify resistance values as
shown below.
P5
1-2
31 O ± 5 O
Much higher
than 31 O
Resistances

1-3

Much higher
or much
lower than
1.5 kO
6-4
6-3
1-7 600 O to
21.2 kO

7. Tilt machine forward to access the bottom of the
machine and the drive motor area. See figure 1,
page 5. Remove the motor bolt, then the motor cover
to access the motor connections. See figure 2,
page 5.
8. Visually check the mounting bracket and electrical
connections to the motor and rotor position sensor
board.
? If visual check passes, go to step 9, page 5.
? If visual check fails, reconnect the electrical
connections, reassemble stator and motor cover
and repeat step 1.
9. With an ohmmeter, check for continuity
between all pins on the P10 machine motor
control connector and the motor rotor position
sensor (RPS) connector. See figure 2 at right
and figure 4, page 16.
? If there is continuity, check the motor
windings. If the motor windings are open,
replace the drive motor.
? If there is no continuity, replace the lower
machine harness.
10. With an ohmmeter, check for continuity
between all pins on the P5 machine/motor
control connector and the drive motor
connector.
? If there is continuity, replace the drive
motor.
? If there is no continuity, replace the lower
machine harness.
11. The drive motor and lower harness are good.
Replace the motor RPS board and perform
the Diagnostics test in step 1 to verify repair.
12. If the Diagnostics motor test in step 1 failed,
then the machine/motor control has failed:
? Unplug the washer or disconnect power.
? Replace the machine/motor control
assembly.
? Perform the Motor Diagnostics in step 1 to
verify repair.
When I turn my washer on a cycle, it will not have any water come out into the basket. Can you let me know what the problem is?
Chris D. for Model Number Whirlpool Cabrio
Answer Hello Chris. Based on the information you provided, if there is power coming to the water valve, and no water, you will need to make sure the screens are not clogged and if not, replace the water valve on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Washer won't drain water, the drain hose are ok?
Jose for Model Number 11027082601
Answer Hi Jose. If the drain pump part # W10536347 is inoperative with the 120 vac in drain or the impeller is loose on the shaft then you need to replace it. Thank You.
remove coins from under washer drum
Mike for Model Number mtw6600tqo
Answer Mike , To clear coins etc. from the inner basket you will need to : Remove power to the washer,Tape the washer lid closed. Using a putty knife, press and unlock the two front top locks. The locks are approximately 6-1/2? from the outside edge of the washer. raise and prop the top against the wall or use a prop rod. 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Raise the cabinet top.3. To remove the basket:
a) Loosen the clamp and pull the recirculation hose off the tub ring. b) Pry out and unsnap the tub ring tabs from the tub and remove the tub ring. c) Insert the blade of a small screwdriver into the slot in the impeller cap, then pry the cap up, and remove it. d) Remove the 7/16? hex-head bolt from the impeller, then lift and remove the impeller from the basket. NOTE: Lifting the basket will assist in removing
the impeller. e) Lift the basket out of the washer. 4. To remove the basket hub, remove the six screws, and lift the hub assembly from
the basket. 5. To remove the lint filter, remove the two screws, and lift the filter from the tub. NOTE: Clean the lint from the vanes in the
filter and reinstall it in the washer. Reverse the procedure and check for operation." Thanks and Good Luck.
Is there a screen kit to stop small coins from getting into the pump and breaking the black impeller housing.
Mike for Model Number mtw6600tqo
Answer Mike, no , there is no screen kit for the drain system, Nor is there any reccomendations to do so. It would create a drain problem eventually causing the washer to malfuntion. You'll need to be more cautious about checking the pockets of the articles when loading the machine. Good Luck.
CAN I FIX A WATER PUMP IF ITS LEAKING INSTEAD OF BUYING A NEW PUMP?
