I have replaced drum rollers and drum glides and felt. Still makes screech when first starting and in cool down. Belt looks good, no fraying. I assume all that is left is idler pulley and drum support shafts? What would you start with? And do you sell kit with everything in it?
Answer Hello Frank,
I would replace the drum rollers and the idler pulley since the life of each is comparable. This would prevent having to tear the unit down again to replace them later. The way to figure out which is giving the most trouble right now is to remove the drum and spin the wheels by hand. The failing one will oppose rotation.
There are 2 rollers in the clothes dryer. I need to know if the price of $18.49 is for each roller or is it sold by the pair?
The rear drum support roller kit 349241T comes with 2 rollers for the unit as you want to replace both rollers at the same time.
am replacing rear drum rollers. have noticed that the original rollers were lubricated, with bearings? I note that the replacement rollers do not appear to be the exposed, lubricated kind? should i lubricate with the auto type white grease or leave alone. Also for what its worth, the left roller was binding, but there was no evidence of scaring. of any kind on the shaft. Are the left and right shafts the same diameter?
Answer Hello Fxworth76,
I was taught to never lubricate anything inside a dryer because lint would stick to the lubrication and cause the bearing to fail faster than if it were never lubricated. The bearings are impregnated with a dry lubricant that lubricates the bearing as it wears. Of course if there is any residue on the roller shafts you should clean them with rubbing alcohol. The residue is normally from the softener sheets and will cause binding of the bearings when heated up.
Dryer is extremely squeaky and I think it must be the drum rollers. I'm just seeing which one's you guys sell that would work for this model.
Answer Hello John,
The drum rollers for this unit is 12001541. I had to assume the model number was LSE7806 and looked up all associated models since the suffix wasn't included, (LSE7806ACE, LSE7806ADE, LSE7806BCE, LSE7806GGE, etc.). You should also check the idler pulley 6-3037050 since it can cause a squeaking sound as you are describing.
How do I know if I need to replace the shaft or support roller of my dryer if it is making a thumping noise?
Answer Hi Jojo. With the dryer drum removed, carefully look at the drum weld area. When the weld area passes by the drum roller this is initially where the drum gets its thumping sound. If you feel the drum weld is excessive replace it. The roller which is normally closer to the heater can will catch the heat (especially with a vent restriction) and weaken the roller. Then the oil-impregnated shaft will loose its properties faster and wear out. Roller part # 349241T. You need to spin the roller and listen for squeaks. If the belt tensioner roller is worn it will also squeak part # 691366. Thank you.
