I need a door seal for a Maytag model but I keep seeing the seal for other makes. Will the other model seals fit? Do I need special glue to install it?
Gerry G. for Model Number PTB21B8GRQ-Maytag
Answer Gerry, I have a model PTB21BBGRQ (88 instead of B8). The refrigerator door gasket is part number 61004010 and the freezer door gasket is part number 61004009. No, glue is not needed to install the gaskets. Pull the old gasket off. The new gasket will press into the door liner. It may be best to soak the new gasket in warm water to help take its shape/form You may need to use a hair dryer to form the seal, be careful not to melt it. Hope this helps!

How is this gasket installed? Is it a magnet or screwed on?
Joseph W. for Model Number MTB2155ERQ
Answer Hello Joseph,
If I'm not mistaken, you loosen all of the screws under the seal and slip out the old one, (it's held in place with a lip slipped under the door liner assembly). The new seal goes back under the lip of the door liner and if it's malformed from shipping, heating it with a hair dryer works great.
