I am trying to replace the right end cap but do not know how to release the part from the back of the refrigerator and do not know how to get the temperature control piece off to put on the new piece. Can you please help? Thank you.
Answer Hello Dionne,
To replace the endcap there are 3 screws with 1/4" hex head that you have to remove. Once removed you would slide the endcap forward. The back piece will come out with it. Once you have the endcap out, at the back where the back piece connects you would release the clips and back piece will come off. On the back of the endcap there are push tabs to release the rod. Making sure that rod is in forward most position release the rod and rotate it to come off the selector knob. Once off the selector knob will just pop off. You will reinstall in reverse.
Facing the frig, the left rail for the deli drawer came off. Any idea how to get it back on?
Answer Hello Carole,
If this is the metal rail that goes to the bottom drawer there are 2 screws that hold the rail in place. You would need to put screws in.
When installing the left drawer end cap, part # 12656106, when is the lid put onto the endcap?
Answer Hello Paul. Once both endcaps are installed into the unit, you can p[lace the lid into the endcaps. You will need to flex it slightly to insert the pegs into the holes. Be careful not to break it.
Are instructions provided, for replacing parts? Or are we on our own?
Answer Hello Todd,
To replace the Endcap you will first need to remove the pantry cover and drawer. Once you have these removed then remove the crisper drawers to make it easier to access. Remove the glass and cross bars that support the glass. Remove the metal rail on the endcap. There would be 2-1/4" screws that have to removed. Remove the 3-1/4" screws holding in the endcap. Once screws are removed then you will pull forward on the endcap then twist toward inside of unit to get the back brackets out. Reinstall in reverse.
