I have a kenmore gas dryer, when i start the dryer the drum turns, but the ingitner does not lite, changed the ingiter, check the thermal switch and thermiser ok but, the ingiter still will not lite..
With the igniter not lighting you will need to determine where power is being lost. You will want to disconnect the igniter and turn the dryer on. Test the wires that you disconnected from the igniter and check for 120 vac to ground with the unit turned on. If there is 120 vac on one of the lines then there is power and the timer is sending power. This would leave either the harness being bad or the motor switch. If there is no power then the issue would most likely be either a thermostat that is faulty or a bad timer.
Why would it run if it is the motor? Could it be the circuit board in the top panel?
Answer Hello Joel. The switch inside the motor is not connecting and allowing the motor to stay on and run. You need to replace the motor in the unit.
When wash comes to drain cycle, will not drain makes no sound, drain pump will not start water stays in tub. Thank you
Answer Hello Norman. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the lid switch may be bad on the unit. We will need your model number to look the part up for you. Thanks. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx
How do you test the relay to see if it is bad?
Answer Hello Kent. You will test and see if power is transferring through the relay. If not, then the relay 3405281 is bad.
You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
