Related to the grease spots question above. I recently started getting dark grey streaks (thin... maybe 1/16" wide and roughly 1" long) on newly washed cloths. They almost look like someone took a pencil and drew a little curved swash on it. One shirt had nearly a dozen spots. But here's the thing, I don't use fabric softener, never have. I have a water softener so I never saw the need. After reading your answer for grease spots I took the agitator completely apart looking for build up of some other sort and given the fact that the washer is over 22 years old it was remarkably clean. The retaining clip and washer on top of the shaft was a different story though. There was a thick dark grease around it but not what I would concider an excessive amount. Was this intentionally done during the assembly process or has it leaked somehow? And could this be the cause of my dark streaks? Thank you for the help.

My washer is leaving grease spots on clothes. There is greasy goo on the bottom of the agitator and bottom of inner tub. Will replacing this seal fix the greasy mess?

washer started leaking, and the leak is from the bottom. How can I determine the exact point it is leaking from? It only leaks during full cycle or spin cycle. And what parts do I need for repairs. I am technically inclined but if I get step-by-step directions that would help. Thanks.
