I need to replace the cam-agitator and ordered part number 285809. Like many others I cannot remove the upper agitator from the lower. I suppose I need to replace the whole thing - upper and lower agitator. What additional parts do I need considering I have the cam-agitator kit already. I am close to replacing the whole thing.

We have a Whirlpool Cabrio Model: WTW5640XW1. It makes loud noises during the agitation cycle, and so I am thinking that I need a new Cam Kit. I can't determine if I need part # 285809 or #285811. Thanks for your help.

Your video shows the upper agitator separating from the lower agitator but mine does not do that. How do I separate them to check to see why the top agitator is only catching to the lower agitator some of the time? The bottom agitator is working just fine.

Dear Appliance Pro Staff, I figured out how to get the top of the agitator off and I was able to replace everything very easily after that. However, we are still experiencing a grinding noise when it is washing. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you. Martina

We ordered a cam-agitator for my Mom's Whirlpool the part number is WPL 285809. I am concerned that we have ordered the wrong part. Also, the old agitator cam is not coming out. If we ordered the wrong part, is there a different way to remove the old cam agitator. It looks as if it had clips that need prying. It's not just sliding out like in the video. Thank you for your help.
