I removed belt and hand turned thrust bearing by hand. It turns freely, but you have to turn it about 1/2 turn before it grabs. Is there a problem?

When it stops to go to spin the motor runs and pumps the water , but no spin . If you turn the drum a little bit it will start after that and spin out the cholthes. And it is making a loud noise, almost sounds like a bearing , and it is loud. That is the only problem. Thanks , for the help.

From what I see the snubber ring is needing replaced on my washer. Question is, if replacing that what all else should be replaced, or is it too costly to repair?

My top load maytag began shaking badly on spin cycle I replaced the snubber ring and belt and it was o.k. for about 2 weeks then all of the sudden again on spin its now making a banging noise (moe like a belt slapping) on spin from the transmission area. Checked thrust pulley for travelk o.k. checked belt and motor all appear o.k. Its just this noise (load) when at full spin empty or full. Any idea's?

My washer doesn't spin correcly. My clthes are soaking wet even after an other spin cycle. during the agitating cycle there is a clanking noise. Also, when I open the lid or the spinning cycle is finished, The tub stop really brutal with a screaching noise. There is a lot of white dust Under the washer that seems comming from the snubber. I checked the thrust bearing and it doesn't seems to be worned. The cam is moving freeely against the pulley. When turning the pulley CW, the agitator moving correctly. In CCW, the agitator moves as if I'm turning it CW. The cam barely reach the first marker, I don't feel any resistance and the brakes are not released. I'm able to release them if I push the cam completly to the end with a screw driver. Am I facing a thrust bearing or brake issue ??? or both ?? Thank you

Hi, My 8 year old washing machine crewed up the snubber ring. I replaced it and again see white shavings. I'm going to change out all 6 springs and install a new snubber this weekend. What could be the cause of snubber ring failure? Thanks
