Upper oven light socket (part no. 3150505) is damaged and must be replaced. This is a wall mounted oven. Can the light socket be replaced without removing the oven from the wall (are the wires to the light socket long enough to allow the socket to be changed from inside the oven)?

To remove the oven light socket, you will want to make sure that power is disconnected from unit. The you would pry the socket ring and socket out of the oven cavity hole. Press in on the socket ring locking arms with a flat blade screwdriver to release them. Disconnect wires and install new. When you snap the socket ring into the liner upon reassembly, position the ring tab in the notch at the bottom of the hole.

Can the light assembly be replaced without removal from the wall?

Answer Hello Bill, the light lens 9781049 just screws off and when you remove the bulb 8009 there are locking tabs in the receptacle 7407P088-60 that hold it in place. Usually a flat blade screwdriver can be used to remove the receptacle. Hope this helps!

Manual says to quarter turn the glass cover, I tried everything including a strap wrench and still unable to twist off.

Answer Ron, Yes, You would have to remove the assembly from the cavity on the backside of the range. You'll need to be careful, so you don't damage the porcelain oven liner, and you'll need a flat blade screwdriver. Unplug the power cord, remove the rear cover panel, and disconnect the wires from the receptacle, Using the screwdriver, press in/down on the two spring clip retainers on the housing and push the assembly in towards the oven . Reverse the procedure to install the replacement assembly. Thanks and good Luck

Do you have to take out this whole assembly to change the light bulb? Two of us tried taking off the glass cover with no success.

Do you unclip the socket from inside the oven or back of the oven? Any suggestion for tools?

Answer Hello Judy! The light socket will unclip from the inside of the oven, press in on the tabs and push out of the oven cavity. You can use a flat blade screwdriver. Hope this information helps!
