My washer's spin cycle is getting really loud. Sounds like a bearing. Could that be the problem and what part do I order?
The model provided is for a dryer and if this is the matching washer that is having the noise during spin then you would need to replace the rear tub on the unit.
My washer will not spin, everything else is ok. I found that one of the prongs of the spin tube thrust washer is broken, coul that be the cause of the no spin condition.
Answer Hello Nato. There are several parts to check. First, the clutch assembly. If the spin tube washer is broke, you may have a drive basket issue or a bearing issue. You will need to determine which part caused the washer to break.
My washer will go into it's spin cycle but doesn't seem to complete it's spin into the higher speed spin out. The water drains out alright but the clothes are still pretty wet. What's my problem here?
Answer Valerie, You most likely have a slipping clutch 285785 or cracked, bent motor coupler 285753A. You do want to check and make sure theres nothing between the two tubs, causing a drag on the tub. You'll need to remove the cabinet from the washer frame in order to investigate. We'll send you some basic information that should help.
My Washer will fill up with water, agitate, then drain but it will not spin can you tell me what the problem is?
Answer Hello Wanda. Check and make sure the motor coupling 285753A is good and tight on the unit. If so, and the unit does not spin, you may have a bad clutch assembly 285785. Hope this helps.
How do I check if the clutch is working correctly or not? The clutch seems to be spinning under the tub, but the inner basket does not spin fast or at all sometimes.
Answer Paul, You will need to remove the cabinet, pump, motor, and agitator and spin tub "block". The clutch and brake assembly are located inside the spin tube assembly underneath the outer tub assembly. Heres a post from the APP Repair Forum that should help you out and give you a reference. My washer will not spin out after the wash cycle. I have replaced the lid switch and that did not help. What else could it be?
Answer Hello Paul. You will need to check and see if the clutch assembly 285785 is bad and needs to be replaced. If so, it can cause the unit not to spin out correctly. Hope this helps.
Where is the lid switch assembly located on the washer?
Answer Hello Dede! The lid switch is located under the main top of the washer. Your part number is 8318084. You will need to remove the control panel and take the top off to access the lid switch. Thanks!
