My washer won't spin
Answer Hello Andrea,
The first suspect is the lid switch 285671. If the motor is humming but not starting, you should make sure the capacitor wires are still properly connected and nothing is in the drain pump. If nothing is between the tubs and the motor coupler is ok, the problem could be in the brake and/or clutch assemblies.
My washer don't wash or spin.
Answer Hello Veronica. You need to check and see if the lid switch is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.
My Maytag washing machine is leaking from the middle. It looks like is in top of the motor.
Answer Hello Manny,
This is going to be the drain pump 3363394 leaking. If the motor shaft is rusting, be sure to sand it off and put a thin layer of grease or petroleum jelly on the shaft since it will rust if not.
My washer's spin cycle is getting really loud. Sounds like a bearing. Could that be the problem and what part do I order?
The model provided is for a dryer and if this is the matching washer that is having the noise during spin then you would need to replace the rear tub on the unit.
My washer will not spin, everything else is ok. I found that one of the prongs of the spin tube thrust washer is broken, coul that be the cause of the no spin condition.
Answer Hello Nato. There are several parts to check. First, the clutch assembly. If the spin tube washer is broke, you may have a drive basket issue or a bearing issue. You will need to determine which part caused the washer to break.
My washer will go into it's spin cycle but doesn't seem to complete it's spin into the higher speed spin out. The water drains out alright but the clothes are still pretty wet. What's my problem here?
Answer Valerie, You most likely have a slipping clutch 285785 or cracked, bent motor coupler 285753A. You do want to check and make sure theres nothing between the two tubs, causing a drag on the tub. You'll need to remove the cabinet from the washer frame in order to investigate. We'll send you some basic information that should help.
