Whirlpool 8193983 Spinner Kit for Dish Washer: I have to replace this every month or two as the top pin that you plug the spinner into keeps wearing out. I can clearly see that the knob is much smaller than when I put it in. The arm seems secure, and I have been very careful not to load something so high as to hit it. It there a better pin than this or some other solution?

The 3rd level spinner has fallen out of the arm assembly, and it won't stay in when I try to place it back in. I assume that I need to replace the spinner, but am confused about how it is reattached to the arm assembly. Do I need to remove the arm assembly to install the new spinner, or can I just push it into the arm from below? Is the shaft on the spinner supposed to be loose in the spinner itself? (It is on the old spinner and this seems to prevent me from pushing it up until it is fully seated in the arm.) The responses I have seen here are ambiguous as both methods are described. Thanks, Bob

Spinner part No. 8557720 continually fell off and I could click it back, until now. The spinner will not attach. Will buying a new spinner fix this problem or is there more to be done with the assembly into which the spinner attaches?
