I volunteer maintenance for an animal shelter and their machine is just out of warranty. They said it started to run on a load yesterday then showed a F30 code. When I came in to look at it will spin one time then the drain pump cycles on and after a time back off then the dispenser motor begins to move the arm from left then past the roman numerals II, III, IV then back left repeatedly and makes a clicking sound until I press cancel. No water enters the machine at any time. First thought the gears in actuator might be bad but opened it up and all looks good. The clicking appears to be the detents on gear for position points so may not be the problem. There is no water in the tub and the drain pump filter is clean. Have hot and cold water to the solenoids. Basic check of connection. Press pause /cancel to reset or unplug does nothing to correct. Thanks for your help!

My Whirlpool Duet washer water distribution assembly has become erratic, sometimes dumping the softner and soap together and sometimes skipping the soap altogether. The top of the distribution box was encrusted with calcium and water deposits. Cleaned that out and reassembled to watch. The accutator motor seems to work fine, but the lever connection and water distribution lever seems stiff, they seem to get stuck under the cam and the lever connection doesn't hit the II, III and IV marks precisely. It seems like the spring has lost enough tension to pull back the lever connection/water distribution lever to the proper point. I also pulled out the soap tray and watched the water dispense as I manually moved the distribution lever back and forth. Water comes out accurately above the soap box but when I move the lever to the bleach and softner boxes, water comes out all over the place. My diagnosis is to replace the nozzle, levers, spring and cam. I also suspect that there is a blockage or calcium buildup inside the water channels in the top of the box. Can I clean that out (LimeAway?) or should I just replace the entire distribution box. And by the way, what is the position I on the top of the box? It's clear that the cam/lever design never goes over to that position; water is dispensed into the soap box on II, bleach at III and softner at IV. Can you explain that? Just curious. Thanks for your help. Scott C

My washer would run up to rinse, then shut down and show F-13. I ordered and replaced the dispenser actuator assembly. With the top off I watched, it now starts and washes all at position II, then when it hits rinse, the dispenser motor sweeps the pointer back and forth from I to IV pausing very briefly at each number, and after several full passes, shuts down again with error code F-13, what can cause this? Thanks! Steve W.
