When I turn on a top burner, it will get red hot then after about 5 seconds turn off. All the burners do the same thing. Thanks
Here is a way to test to see if the elements are working properly. Take a pan and fill it with a quart/ 32 oz of room temperature water. Put the pan on the small element and turn on high. The water should come to a boil in approximately 6 1/2 to 7/12 minutes. If it does not then the switch would most likely be the switch.
I used the front left burner, after I turned it off, the light indicator did not go off. Do I need to replace the control switch ?
Answer Hello Donna. If it is the hot eye light, you will need to replace the element. If it is the on light, replace the infinite switch.
The large dual burner stopped working and after a day or two the small burner also stopped working. Is the problem the switch or the burners, and how do you check to see which it is?
Answer Hi Jim. Use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to look at the wiring diagram and it gives you part specifications which tell you circuit needs assistance. You need to check the rocker switch part # 74010225 above the infinite switch to see if it ohms correctly. It switches for the correct burner size so the dual element infinite switch part # 74003122 sends the power to the selected burner part # 7406P403-60. Thank You.
Large front right burner, continues to get hotter and hotter even if you turn it down.
Is that the switch?
Answer Hello Penny. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the switch 7403P239-60 is bad and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
