Our dryer will not run. There is power to the dryer. Removed the push to start switch. Read a question from another person who said he replaced the switch and it still doesn't run. You mentioned checking the fuse. Can you tell me where the fuse is located? Thank you.
The thermal fuse is located on the blower housing of the dryer. If you pull the unit out and remove the back panel, make sure that you disconnect power first. With the panel removed, the blower will be on the left side looking at it from the back and the thermal fuse will be on the housing. The part number for the fuse is 3392519.
Hello, My Kenmore Dryer model number110.96060100 has power but will not start. Replaced the push to start switch and it still did not start. What else could the problem be and is it a do it yourself job like the push to start switch. Thanks for your help.
Answer Hello Jamar,
You will want to check your thermal fuses to make sure that they are good. When checking the thermal fuses, unplug unit and disconnect the wires on the fuse. Check for continuity on the fuses and also on the thermostats and if no continuity then the thermal fuse is bad and needs to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Where does the black, blue and white wire go on this switch contacts, CO, NO & C?
Answer Hello Phil. We will need your model number to help you with this. Please post your model number with a new question on the parts page. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/modelnumber_locator.aspx
My dryer keeps running. In that it shuts off while the timer is in the off location but it keeps clicking through the off position and starts back up in the next mode in the dryer dial. The serviceman put in a new timer and the same thing happens, so he removed the new and put the old one back in. And said he'd call me back with a solution, he never called. My guess is the start button shorted out and keeps the timer going. Your thoughts?
Answer Hi George. The timer is part # 3976569. If the timer motor keeps the timer contacts activated it will keep the timer in constant rotation. Are you sure the timer skirt is misplaced on the timer shaft 180° out of phase? There is nothing out of ordinary on this gas dryer that would effect it elsewhere. It is possible the previous technicians timer out of the box was bad (it happens on any man made part). Give this a try. Let us know how to assist you further. Thank You.
How do install this switch on my kenmore v110.86681700??
Answer Hello Elizabeth. Unplug the unit and remove the back panel off the control panel. Now, remove the knob off the switch by pulling it off. Then remove the push to start switch and wire the new switch 279173 as the old one was wired. There are markings on the switch to help you do this. Hope this helps.
