I need to know how to disconnect the tank assy on a maytag frig. msd2432gr the water lines on the fittings to the tank ? Thanks for the helo tom
Answer Tom, It's not a major repair, You will need to, unplug the power cord, and turn the water supply off at the water supply shut off. Move the refrigerator away from the wall , and remove the compressor compartment cover to access the water tank tubing(2 tubes). One tube should attach directly to the water inlet valve. the other will have a compression connector 2300868 that attaches to the tube running up the back wall of the fridge to the filter assembly. to disconnect the "john guess" fitting press down or in on the plastic ring that surrounds the fill tube, and pull out on the tube. You want to disconnect the tube to the tank, and leave the fitting on the tube to the filter. You may want to label the tubes, so you can duplicate the position and connections when you're ready to install the new assembly. You'll need to remove the crisper drawers and most of the lower shelves and rails remove the tanks mounting screws and the caulking compound surrounding the tubing coming through the bottom of the floor, and carefully remove the tank and tubes. Reverse the procedure, and turn everything back on and run approximately 1 gallon of water through the water dispenser at the freezer door to flush, and bleed the air out of the water system, and check for leaks from the connectors and tank. Good Luck and Thanks
Where and how do you find the tank assy in this unit think it is leaking? Thanks for the help
Answer Hello Tom, you will locate the water tank 61003689 at the bottom of the fridge section behind the lowest crisper drawer. Thanks!
