both broiler and bake elements will not heat on a whirlpool electric free stand self clean purchased new 2009. not sure what needs to be changed? Thanks for your time, doug
Answer Hello Doug! You will want to make sure the breaker for the range is flipped on first. If your top burners are working but both the bake and broil burners are not coming on, you will more than likely need to replace W10108090. Thanks!
Could the thermal fuse be the issue if the oven and control panel lighting are not functioning? The range top is functioning normally at all four switches and burners.
Answer Hello Johnny,
The thermal fuse is only in line with the broil element. This issue will most likely be the clock assembly 9757271. Since this board has been discontinued with no satisfactory substitution listed by the manufacturer, your best bet would be to contact corecentricsolutions.com to see if they support this board for remanufacturing. You would have to send the board to them for the repair so you would definitely need to take several pictures from several directions so you will be able to reconnect the wiring when it gets back. This avoids a lot of frustration and possible mis-wiring that could cause damage to the clock assembly or other components.
Power to oven works fine. Everything works except elements, bake and broil. Will power still work on oven if thermal fuse is blown?
Answer Hello Eddie. Yes, it still works, but the elements will not heat. The thermal fuse should read closed for continuity. If it is good, replace the control board on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
