Both my frig and freezer stopped working at the same time. My freezer thawed everything and the frig was room temp. The fan is running. I unplugged it for three days and plugged it in. The bottom of the frig and freezer are cool, the upper shelves are still warm. What do I need to look at doing?

This is the thermostat I received and I wanted to make sure it was ok to splice and tape the new one in as there is not wiring harness connectors, nor is there a wiring harness in the freezer.

Regarding my previous question, I checked the damper and the flapper and they were working freely. My wife had unplugged the refrigerator for approx 3 hours before I did anything to it so I went ahead and wedged the damper open with a pencil and found my fridge temp was down to 30 degrees the next morning. Now 2 days later the temp is back up to 55 degrees. I took the lower cover off on the freezer side and found the coils were frozen solid. I let them thaw and now it is working fine. What should my next step be ? Thank You, I would probably not have attempted any of this with out your advise. Joe

My freezer is fine but the fridge will not go below 60 degrees. I unplugged it for 2 hours and now it is working (12 hours later). My question is for how long and what caused it to happen? What parts should be replaced? Defrost thermostat, adaptive control board, or something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My freezer keeps frosting over the damper and the fridge is getting warm. I have replaced the timer but did not fix the problem. The heater tested fine but I am not sure how to test the thermostat? Is there anything else that could be causing this.

My freezer stopped freezing the ice melted and ran out on the floor. We unplugged it and then plugged back in and worked a few days. Could the thermostat defrost be the problem? If not what might it be?

Maytag side by side: freezer coils frost over every 2 - 3 months. I have replaced the adaptive defrost board ( gave me 4 -5 months trouble free), then I replaced the heater evaporator ( got 2 months trouble free) Is the next step to replace the defrost thermostat? Is there any connection between this issue starting and the fact that the adjusting/leveling screws sheared off a month prior to the first incident? (2)When doors are firmly pushed - hissing sound is heard, is this related?
