The freezer vent on the inside keeps freezing over with ice? What can be some of the problem as far as part failure. Is their some test I can perform? Thank you
Answer Hello Rob,
You need to find and correct the air leak that is allowing humidity to enter the unit. This can be around and of the doors to include the ice dispense door.
Freezer is working but everything freezes in refrigerator Also no water out of water line for drinking any suggestions?
Answer John, Freezing in the refrigerator compartment is usually due to a "stuck" control damper 67003903 located in the top left corner behind the control panel, or air being "trapped" by articles hanging over the shelves or blocking the air return tunnel, behind the crisper drawers. Make sure the freezer temperature is not too cold (average air temperature should be 3 to 5 dgrs.F.) As for water to the dispenser, it's most likely a frozen water tank R0131625 on the back wall of the fresh food compartment.
Where is the defrost timer located on this refrigerator.
Answer Hello Adam, the defrost timer 68233-3 for your model should be on back of the unit on the lower right side. Hope this helps!
Both my frig and freezer stopped working at the same time. My freezer thawed everything and the frig was room temp. The fan is running. I unplugged it for three days and plugged it in. The bottom of the frig and freezer are cool, the upper shelves are still warm. What do I need to look at doing?
Answer Hello Laura. Remove the back wall inside the freezer and make sure there is a good frost pattern on the coils and not just part of the coils with ice on them. Also, make sure the evaporator fan motor is running. If the frost pattern is not good, you have a sealed system issue. If the fan is not running, you will need to replace the fan motor.
This is the thermostat I received and I wanted to make sure it was ok to splice and tape the new one in as there is not wiring harness connectors, nor is there a wiring harness in the freezer.
Answer Hello Meg,
There is a bit of an issue with taping any electrical connection in the freezer compartment. You see, moisture will condense on the metal parts in the freezer compartment. This causes an issue because the tape will not remain secure in the freezers' temperatures. The tape will let go and expose the metal wires and corrosion will cause loss of conductivity in the connection and the circuit will fail. It is recommended to use wire nuts and fill the back of the wire nut with white lithium grease TJ10142WD.
My freezer is fine but the fridge will not go below 60 degrees. I unplugged it for 2 hours and now it is working (12 hours later). My question is for how long and what caused it to happen? What parts should be replaced? Defrost thermostat, adaptive control board, or something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Answer Hi Joe. There is a damper assy. that needs to be changed. It is in the top Lt. Rear of the fresh food area. It allows the freezer air to flow into the fresh food area. You can remove it and unplug the elect. connector. Then "force" the damper to at least a 50% rate and hold it open wit a couple wire nuts on each side until you get the new part. It is part # 12571701. You need to buy the damper gasket that adheres it to the side of the center divider. It is part # 12582901. Also there is a return below t6he crisper drawers on the left that there is a flapper to regulate and close when the fans are not running. Remove the drawer and see if the flapper has come loose or is stuck. It needs to be "flowing " freely. Thank You.
