my electric dryer doesn't heat up enough to dry the clothes. i have to run it twice to get them dry. i thouroughly cleaned the inside and the venting. The airflow is quite strong. i put a temperature probe in the drum and monitored it for a full cycle and the temp. never gets above 125 degrees even towards the end of the cycle. the heating coil appears to stay off longer than on. it glows a nice bright red when it is on. i tested the high limit, thermo fuse and cycling thermostat and they all have continuity. the cycling thermostat says 135 degrees+/-15. I want to fix it but i am about to give up and get a new dryer. i don't want to though. any ideas?

Answer John, Based on this information, You will want to make sure that the blower wheel is not clogged with lint and if it is clear then you would be looking at a bad cycling thermostat.

Dryer has no heat.

Answer Hello William. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater and thermostats and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter TJMA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Hi.....My dryer gets hot once then won't relight - the coil cycles on and off but no gas comes out. Thermostat, limit switch or possibly gas solenoids ? Thanks for your help...Jim

Answer Jim, If the igniter glows then fades, but there is no flame or gas released for ignition, it would be an issue in the gas valve coils 279834 or no gas supplied to the dryer or gas valve. Good Luck and Thanks

The cycling thermostat I have has 3 connections, the one you offer has only 2 connections. The part number is the same. What do I do with the extra wire? Thanks, -david

Answer Hello David. The thermostat Y61372 has three terminal spades on it. You can't see the one sideways in the picture. Hope this helps.
