The timer may be the issue. The dryer heats only when the timer spindle is held in just the right spot. I have a picture of the timer label, but none of the numbers seem to match numbers you have listed. Can you tell me which timer model I need? Thank you

On this dryer the timer motor has to be replaced, on the new timer it has two aligning pegs and two dimples on the face plate. The old timer had was a flat face plate. My question is if I place the timer pegs in the plastic dryer body do I make new holes in the faceplate where the old timer was screwed on or do I drill out the plastic dryer body and into the dimpled spots on the new timer. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Is the timer AP4042430 the right one for my Maytag Neptune model MDG4000BWW? I'm confused with the ELE afer the model number. Does that refer to an electric dryer? Thanks.

We have a Maytag Neptune dryer purchased new in 12/1999. Model # MDE4000AYW, serial # 28669348WZ. The timer isn't working correctly. The timer you show is AP4042430. I am checking to ensure that this the right compatible part for this model & serial #.

Original timer would keep rotating and would not shut the dryer off only way was to unplug it. New timer #33001730 will not rotate but manualy will shut dryer off in different locations. Put another new timer same part # does the same thing. Dryer works perfect except for this problem. Thanks

Buzzing sound was coming from what seemed to be the timer the last time I used the dryer. Now dryer will not start. I can tap on the timer and it starts to make the buzzing sound and tried to start briefly while I was tapping on it. Is the timer switch what's causing my problem?
