If allowed to sit for 5 or 10 mins you can then restart by pushing in the timer will now go through perhaps another part of cycle then repeats the process. Robert M for Model Number 110.20922990 kenmore washer ANSWER Robert, You will want to check the pump to make sure that it is not clogged which would cause it to not turn and cause the motor to overheat. thanks for your prompt reply I have checked the pump and it's not plugged at all the smell comes from the timer also some of the wires from the timer are hot. any other ideas T.I.A.

Water fills, agitator functions. Will NOT pump out and go into rinse cycle. There is no noise once agitator functions ends...it's as if machine shut itself off.

Kenmore washer stops at end of cycle timer does not advance to spin water just stays in drum. Move timer to rinse it agitates and then stops will not advance to spin.
