My dryer doesn't automatically shut off. Is there anything else that would cause this other than the timer? If it is the timer, do I need any other parts?

I replaced the motor, it was bad. Now the timer will not shut off. If you have it in normal dry the timer motor dose run , but if in time dry the timer doesn't run.

I just purchased a 3976576 from a website that fixed the problem I had of dryer just shutting off at random times (contacts burned up in timer). Now that is fixed, but sometimes timer runs backwards. I took motor off old timer and put in newly purchased unit and it seems to be fixed. My question is, can I purchase just the motor since I still have a 15 year old "fixed" timer"? I could not return item I bought it from ebay. Thank You

My dryer worked out, one cycle had to be dried twice, but the next morning nothing. I was told to change the thermal fuse, that wasn't the issue. I was told to clean it so I took it apart to find that there was only a small amount of lint to clean out. Now I'm told it may be the timer? I am lost and need my dryer! LBVS! I push the start button, no sound or movement. The light comes on (if that matters). Nothing else. Is it a lost cause? Please help. Thanks in advance.

I was just chatting with parts dept and they suggested asking you my question. Something feel out of the overhead cabinet and broke my timer knob off of the stem. Do I need to replace the complete timer unit (AP3100522) and if so, does it come with instructions?

The dryer will run and dry but the timer will cycle to the next cycle by itself and continue to run. I replaced the timer but it did not fix the problem. I also found that when I turn the knob to the next cycle, the unit comes on even though I didn't press the start button. I opened the door to shut it off but it continues to run with the door open. Any suggestions?
