Hi,
Set Dryer for about 60 minutes, will quit after about 10 minutes, then will stop dead . When this happens, the timer moves fast, even though it was set for 60 min, it will travel to about the 40 min setting and stop, all within 5 minutes. It will not latch and run anymore, I have to hold the run button down for another 5 minutes until the timer advances all the way to "Stop", then all is good again (normal operation) for many weeks.
Thanks Much
Kenny

Answer Hello Ken. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the timer 8299771 is bad on the unit and will need to be replaced.
I SET MY DRYER ON TIMED DRY FOR 70 MINUTES --- RAN OK FOR 5 MINUTES DOWN TO 65 MINUTES -- THEN TIMER KNOB ADVANCED FROM 65 MIN TO 20 MIN IN MAYBE 10 SECONDS WHILE I WATCHED -- THEN ADVANCED TO OFF -- SOUNDS LIKE A MECHANICAL PROBLEM WITHIN TIMER -- DOES THAT SOUND RIGHT?? --

Answer Bobareno, It's more likely a sensor bar issue in the drum under the lint filter housing 3387223 or a control board issue W10116565. these two components communicate with each other and directs the timer to advance or stall based on the information. We'll send you some wiring and test information so you can verify the component operations.
My dryer dries the clothes completely sometimes and other times it starts to dry and you come back in 10 minutes and the timer is off and the clothes are warm and wet. What gives?

Answer Hello AC. It sounds like the venting system is clogged or kinked. You will need to check the vent and clean it out. Be sure and clean the vent pipe and the dryer air duct assembly. If the air flow is not good, the unit will retain moist air causing the clothes not to dry. Try running the unit with the vent unhooked from the back of the dryer and see if the dryer works properly. Hope this helps.
My dryer only runs when the push to start switch is held down. Heat blows, dryer tumbles, but as soon as I release it the dryer stops. I replaced the electronic controller, and push to start switch. It worked for about a month and now is doing the same thing. My timer continues to run even when the dryer isn't running. Do I need to replace my controller board again or is it the timer?
Bdobbs for Model Number 110.64972301
Answer Hello Bdobbs, it sounds as though you may have a problem with the start switch on your motor. It's the plastic piece on the motor where the wires attach. It has to be activated once you release the start button and it doesn't sound as though that's happening. Sometimes lint will build up around the centrifigal mechanism and keep it from working correctly. If the switch itself is bad it will require ordering a new motor.
