Dryer will not start. My husband checked the fuse, door switch and start button with a volt meter and all is well. If I buy the timer assembly and it does not fix the problem can the part be returned?

I just purchased a Timer(AP2973903,or WPL 3397273), RECEIVED WPL 3397273B.( don't know if that "B" at the end means anything). On my old timer looking from the back, it has 3 Terminals on the right-hand-side. W, T, and GY. The T has three(3) prongs. The GY has two(2) prongs. There is a tan wire bridge between one of the prong of the Terminal T and GY. The new Timer, just received, does not have a terminal GY. And the terminal "T" now has four(4) prongs. I need to know the significance of the absence of the GY, and, how to handle the four(4) prongs of terminal "T". Thanks in advance. Victorbee

My Whirlpool electric dryer starts and dries fine but the timer does not advance to the off position for any cycle. Is the timer bad or another part associated with the timer?

Can timer be turned counterclockwise? When I hit start button, nothing happens. Motor is running,(I can see in small window on motor) but timer is not advancing. Could there be a problem other than timer? (Door swith seems to work properly, start switch resets when door opens.) Thank-you

Dryer will not run long on the permanent press cycle. It will cut off but you can restart it and will run again for a few minutes and then cut off again. It will run on the regular cycle and not cut off. Is the timer gone bad? Would I need a new timer assembly? Thanks

My drier won't start when I push the start button. If I hold the start button in and move the timer clockwise, when it reaches the low end of two cycles it will start the drum rolling. If I purchase a timer and it still doesn't work can I return the part for a different part or refund?
