The spin cycle will only run in the delicate cycle and you have to be there to move the switch and it does not spin thoroughly. What needs to be replaced? Is it the timer or something more?
Answer Joe, You're going to need to replace the timer 22003363. That should solve the issue with " spin cycle will only run in the delicate cycle" and "you have to be there to move the switch". Since the delicate spin is a slow speed spin, that should be solved as well.
I can not find a replacement part knob for the timer . it is silver with a long slit and a d form. I beleive that is older.
Without the model number of the unit we cannot get the correct part number for your unit. Based on the part number listed 53-0653 the part number for your unit would be 31001219.
I am trying to order a new maytag gas dryer knob PARTS # 2200 1659 a d opening and everything I saw had a round opening where the knob fits on. Please help. Thank you.
Answer Hello Shady! I believe your model should read MDG9316AWA (D and G reversed). The timer knob is part number 22001659 this has a circle shaft to install on the circle shaft on the timer. The D shaft knob I believe you are looking for is the selector switch, part number 22002589. You may click on the part number to view the pictures available. Thanks!
How do I take the timer knob apart? I just need to replace the skirt.
Answer Hello Jenny. Pull the knob off the timer shaft. Then unsnap the center out of the timer knob 22001659. Once the center cap is removed, you can unsnap the timer knob from the timer skirt. Hope this helps.
How do I get the knob off of the dryer timer?
Answer Dave, once the timer cap 22001664 is removed (you can gently pry this off with a small screw driver) the timer knob 22001659 should pull off. Hope this helps!
