For the Rear outer tub, 285984, did Whirlpool change the bearing size? I just got a new one and it is bigger than the shaft.

1 repair tech diagnosed the cause of knock on high speed spin as a bad shock & another said the spider on the inner tub was bad. I don't feel any play on the pulley at the back of the outer tub. The shocks seem a little sloppy but seem all the same. How can I determine the cause of the knock?
Hankr for Model Number WFW8410SW01
Answer Hello Hankr. Pull the unit out and remove the back access panel on the unit. Then, turn the unit on and let it run. Check and see if the noise is coming from the pulley or the shocks. You should be able to determine this being behind the unit with that cover off the unit. Then you can determine if it is the bearings and spider assembly or the shocks.

This unit was bought in October of 2003 (9 years ago). The outer tub has failed so both tubs will need replacing. The warranty says 2 through 10 years, the outer tub is covered. How does the do-it-yourselfer get free parts without involving a costly serviceman?
El M. for Model Number GHW9100LW1
Answer Hello,
The parts have to be provided through an authorized factory servicer and will not be covered under any warranty unless installed by such.

Is the seal available? I have found and replaced the bearings, but would have liked to replace the seal, because I beleive this took out the bearings.
Woody for Model Number 110.42822203
Answer Hello Woody. No, you will need to order the tub assembly W10253864 for the seal. Hope this helps.
