When the washing machine spins, there is a clicking sound. It sounds like something is loose, maybe a tension dampner? thanks Paul
Answer Paul, the basic Duet Sport front load washer doesn't have a tension dampener. or a heater element so it won't be too obvious, or simple. You'll need to remove the lower access panel, and see if you can isolate the area where the noise is located. It could be a loose belt or motor mount, a broken or loose damper or possibly a tub spinning and tapping the outer tub, because of a worn tub bearing. If you can supply a model number, we can be a bit more accurate with our recommendations.
What does the pin inside the plastic tube do? It is attached to the base.
Answer Hello Rob,
If you are referring the pin in the plastic cup that is hanging from the suspension, these are shipping clips that are not needed once the unit has been set up for use. Pulling the long yellow plastic strip from the rear of the unit during installation pulls these pins and they drop into the cups to prevent the customer from thinking a part has been lost from the unit.
Unit performs fine, but tub seems very loose, can be moved 2 - 3 inches from side to side by hand. Any ideas?
Answer Hello Randy. It is normal for the outer tub to move like that. If the unit is running fine and is not off balance, there is nothing wrong with the unit.
Does part # 4 from machine base diagram include centerpost tube?
The part tub support W10039460 does have the centerpost tube on it. When installing the drive tube into the tub support you will want to make sure that the tube has grease on it. If not then the unit will be noisy.
