Hi Thanks for the reply, it was helpful. But its not as clear since am having difficulty imagining the procedure. Is there a video that I can watch? From what you said, the tube is connected to a valve in the back bulkhead...is this the one at the back of the ref on the right side close to where the water filter is? The plate on the left top of the ref...are you talking about on top of the ref where the rubber bulb with the tube (the replacement part) is? I do not see any screws. Just a plastic cover that pops out, which exposes the part. And the grommet your talking about is part of the replacement part, right? So if I am understanding this, I pull off the rubber bulb along with the tube, and reinsert the line that will feed back to the valve? Why do I need to take off the ice bin? Sorry lots of questions, thanks.
Unfortunately there is no video on how to replace the icemaker fill tube. For where the cover is that needs to be removed, yes it is on the right side of the refrigerator compartment on the back wall below where the filter is located. This will require the shelving to be removed. The plate on top will just pop off as there is no screw in it. You may need to pop off with a flat blade screwdriver. This is located on the top of the refrigerator and under the plate will be a bulb which is the fill tube. This is the part that you will need to wiggle out and once the bulb and grommet is out then you can pull the tubing out. Once it is pulled out you can then slide the tubing in first to where the water valve is and then push the grommet end back into the hole where it was previously. You will want to remove the ice bin and the icemaker from the unit so that you can grab the grommet that is sticking through to make sure it is fully seated. Once the tubing is back in then you can reassembly the unit.
How do you change the tube w/waterline, fill hose for this model? Thanks
Answer Vince, To replace the ice maker fill tube, you'll need to work from both compartments and the top of the refrigerator. Move the refrigerator out if needed, and turn off the water supply to the refrigerator. Remove the shelves on the right side of the refrigerator compartment, this will give you access to the panel covering the fill valves and water tank. Remove cover on back bulkhead by inserting screwdriver in slots to release tabs. Disconnect the upper water tube from the fill valve(press in on the collar that surrounds the tube on the valve and pull out on the tube. Remove the ice bin from the ice box compartment, in the left rear area of the top panel you'll see the cover plate remove the screw and lift the plate off the refrigerator. Using a pair of pliers grasp the top of the fill tube grommet and extract the assembly by pulling up and applying a side to side motion. once the grommet and fill tube is out, insert the fill tube into the channel opening and "feed" it back to the water valve, once the grommet is in position, insert it through the opening in the ceiling and press down until the grommet is seated. reach inside the ice box, above the ice maker and tug down on the fill tube grommet, to make sure it has seated and sealed properly. Reverse the procedure, reinstall the panels and shelves, turn the water supply back on.
Trying to replace tube w/water line in ice maker
Answer Kenneth to replace the water tube that goes from the water valve to the icemaker you will need to first remove the shelving in the refrigerator compartment. Once removed there is a cover on the right side back wall that you will need to remove to access the water valve. Once you access the water valve and disconnect the tubing that goes to the fill tube, go to the top of the refrigerator and there should be an access toward the back of the refrigerator. Take the cover off and pull out the fill tube from the cabinet. Once pulled out you will be able to pull the water line out. You would then push the water line back through the channel and push the fill tube back into place. Reassemble the unit.
Trying to replace ice maker tube. How does the panel on back wall come off? Can't seem to get it off. Thank you.
Answer Hello Dan. Do not remove the panel. Just twist the fill tube from the outside and pull it out of the cabinet to remove it. Install the new part 67006317 in reverse order.
how do you remove back wall panel to replace ice filler tube?
Answer Rich, The only panel you will need to remove is in the refrigerator rear wall " Turn water off to unit, remove power to the unit . Remove crispers and shelves from right side of fresh food compartment. Remove covers on back bulkhead by inserting screwdriver in slots to release tabs. Disconnect water line from of tank to inlet of water valve by holding valve stationary, and pressing in on the tubing collar and pulling water tube out of valve". Once the tube is released from the fill valve, you' have to access the top of the refrigerator and loosen/remove the fill tube cover W10191141 and extract the fill tube assembly from the roof of refrigerator. There is a channel molded into the insulation that the fill tube will be inserted into, but you may want to attach a string or wire to the original fill tube when you extract it. it will be helpful, when you install the new tube, if you reattach the string, and use it to pull the tube through the channel.
