I'm not sure if I need to replace the control board (AP3767528) or the control panel (AP3772921). There are 2 symptoms. The main problem is that the dial that selects (whitest whites/normal/quick wash/delicate/silk/wool) only selects the bottom options (delicate/silk/wool/hand washsables), if I turn the dial to one of the upper options (whitest whites/normal/quick wash) the red light indicates one of the lower options instead. The second symptom is that the machine frequently and sporadically beeps 3 times during the wash.

My washer is approx. 10 years old. We have been having trouble with the start button for approx. 3 years. We have had to wiggle the start button to get it to start washer. There is no more wiggle to start button. It's like it is not engaging what ever is behind it to start the washer. Any ideas?

I took the front panel off of my Whirlpool Duet Sport (Model WFW8500SR00) and the two little connections from the wiring harness to the user interface got disconnected. I'm trying to find out where they should be reconnected on the back of the User interface. Help??!!!

Like a previous person, we do not have a 0, 1 or 2 after the model number. Please answer the question he asked, about whether or not this is significant. I would not want to order a part for $231 and then find out it was for the 0, 1 or 2 models and not for my model. Thanks

The tab behind my start button broke off. I super glued it back but don't know how long it will last. I do not need the whole interface, all I need is the plastic case that the computer boards attach too. Can you buy just that?

First of all, my washer doesn't have a 0,1,or 2 at the end of the model number - does that mean an older model? Anyhow, we had a problem with the start button not working several months ago. I took it apart and found the little black frame that holds the button was broken and the button was just floating, and not making consistent contact with the button on the circuit board. A little tape took care of that and it's been working since. But just since a few days ago, the cycle indicator light would blink even when the door was closed. For a while that didn't seem to affect anything, but then it wouldn't start intermittently, and finally it quit altogether - the door would not lock, hence the machine wouldn't start. I did some research and figured that the door latch was the culprit so I ordered a new one and just changed it out tonight. No help. Cycle light still blinking, no lock, no start. More research - some were suggesting it was the control unit, but then I tried the diagnostic, and it passed everything perfectly. The door locked and it went through all its phases just as the program indicated. But it still won't start when I move the cycle selector to a different cycle - just blinking light and no lock. Does this mean the control unit is OK but the interface board has failed? That's what I'm guessing, but wanted to check before I order one. Now I'm wondering if I wasted my money on a new door latch when maybe it was the interface board all along? Thanks.
