My whirlpool dryer has dashes in the display for 3 of the rotary switch settings. I'm going to do the resistance test described in the trouble shooting guide to test the UI board. Is there anything else I should look for before I replace the UI board?
Answer Hello Sid. According to the tech sheet it is either the ccu or the interface board. The manufacture recommends replacing the ccu and if it continues, replace the interface. There really is no test for this other than trying a reset by unplugging the unit.
I have a Duet dryer. The last time it stopped the load wasn't quite dry. The wife went to adjust dryness level for more. When she pushed start the sensing light came on and nothing happened. If you cancel out everything you can push the Control On button and set up as desired. Auto or manual when the start button is pushed the sensing light comes on and the dryer does not start. I have turned off the breaker with the same results. Would this be the user interface board, the control board or something else?
Answer Hi. Lift the top and remove the top cover. Remove the agitator. Look to see if the agitator drive hub part # is not damaged and not holding the agitator tight back and forth on the transmission shaft or the agitator itself. Remove the inner tub. Look at the tub mount trunnion assy part # 131545101 to see if the plate part # 137107000 and the bolt part # 137539500 is broken and cocked off the transmission shaft. Then if all this is intact, look in between the inner and the outer tub. Make sure there are no balled up clothes in the basket. Remove the front cover. Look at the bottom of the tub to see if there are any water or dirty water coming out there to flush out the upper spin bearing part # 3204405 and allowing it to seize up. You will need the tub seal as well part # 5303279394. If this is OK then see if the bottom transmission bearing block is bad. If you remove the lower pulley and look up at the bearing block - it may show the bearings and race damage. It is all included in with the transmission assy. part # 134735700. Remove the motor belt and see if the motor now runs individually. Look at he Idler arm assy. part # 131862900 is damaged and needing replaced as well as the belt part # . Thank You.
i have a duet dryer,i push the start button and it does not come on or light, if i try it later it comes on, problem seems to be intermittent
Answer Mike, Before you replace the U/I (user interface), you need to check the loading door, make sure it is properly aligned to the front panel and opening, both door latches are catching and holding the door 279570 and the door switch 8283288 and wiring are working proper. If all's OK then replace the U/I (user interface). Good Luck and Thanks
When drying in automatic mode, heavy duty or normal selection, the timer starts at 56 minutes, decrements correctly for about 6-7 minutes, then jumps down to 24 minutes left, then will jump up to 40 minutes for a few minutes then start beeping that the cycles has finished. It seems to work in manual mode with no issues. Please help.
Answer Peter, You want to check and clean the drum sensor bar of debris and lint, and clean the metal strips with "alcohol", a build up of softner oils could cause the bars to stop sensing the dampness of the clothes, and shorten the auto dry cycle. We wouldn't expect you to have and issue with the control or user interface at this point. Thanks and Good Luck
