Good morning, my oven will not turn on, heat up, nothing. When I turn on the bake function, timer comes on and counts down but oven will not do nothing. There are no clicking sounds as if the ignitor was trying to ignite the gas. I do not smell any gas when I turn the oven on, however, when I turn the broiler on, there are 2 clicks tryng to ignite the broiler but still nothing, no gas smell either. I was told by my brother this might be some sort of valve, could you please let me know? Thank you
Answer Hello Dawn. If there is no clicking in the bake mode, then you need to test and see if the control is sending power to the module. If not, replace the control. If so, replace the module. It would not be the valve preventing the igniter from sparking. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
My top burners light up and inmediatly goes down and the flame stay very small.
Answer Hello Santos. Make sure the gas coming to the unit is at the correct pressure. if so, the regulator may be bad and need to be replaced on the unit.
THE OVEN STARTS AND IN A FEW MINUTES IT GOES OFF
Answer Chris, First thing, check and make sure the power cord is attached to a properly polarized and grounded 120 VAC outlet. A proper ground is very important for the range to operate properly. Then you'll need to make several tests at the gas distribution valve. You'll need a multi meter to test voltage and resistances. At the valve body terminals, with the wires labeled and remove from the middle terminal to each of the outer terminals, you should read 215 ohms resistance. With the wires reconnected, when you select the bake cycle, you should have a reading of 8 to 18 VDC across the red and orange wires. When you make a broil selection you should have the same 8 to 18 VDC,across the orange and blue wires. If all checks are proper(within 10%) repalce the oven bake burner and igniter. Here's a link to meter usage, should you need it. [http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html]
Can the solenoid in the gas valve be replace?
Answer Hello Raul. No, if the solenoid is bad, you will need to order and replace the gas valve W10293048.
My Wirlpool oven not working. I hear the electronic ingnation working but no heat or flame but top of stove gas working.
Answer Hello Yvonne,
You would want to check the coils on the gas valve for resistance. You should have 216 ohms across both terminals 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. If you do not have 216 ohms then you have a bad gas valve W10293048 and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
Put on oven or broiler I hear electronic ignition no heat no flame.
Answer Hello Yvonne,
You will need to check your gas valves for resistance. When you check the valve check from bake to common and from broil to common. You should have 216 ohms resistance across each of these points. If you do not have this resistance then you will need to replace the safety valve W10293048. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
