My dishwasher never gets any water. I'm thinking a water inlet valve might be to blame. Does that sound right? Which part should I buy?

Whirlpool dishwasher. No water coming to dishwasher on an intermittent basis. I suspect that part AP5802887 is bad. I am wondering if there is a way to troubleshoot this part to verify its operation, or if there is a common problem with this part that can be fixed. Is this a common problem?

Whirlpool dishwasher fills properly runs through the first cycle fine drains ok. Next cycle begins does not pump enough water to make the unit run. I have to add a tea kettle of water to the dishwasher and then the dishwasher runs ok to the very end. What's wrong with my unit?

Hello, My Kitchen Aid dishwasher started pouring water on the floor. I determined that the inlet valve does not shut down even though I cancel the program or turn the fuse off. I conclude the water inlet valve went bad, but would like to make sure before ordering a replacement part. I found on www that two terminals on the valve found in a good shape should show resistance when disconnected from the machine's circuitry and tested with am ohmmeter. If the measurement show open circuits the valve is bad. Is that correct?

Thank you for all of the help so far. I did have a problem with the float valve. The float had become disconnected. I fixed that issue and now the dishwasher fills and works but it doesn't have much pressure when it is washing. The upper spray arm for example barely spins around when it is going through a cycle. The dishwasher seems to drain ok after it has finished a cycle. Any idea what might cause the spray to have low pressure? Thanks again!

I unplugged the inlet valve from power and turned the dishwasher on. With my volt meter attached to the power supply for the inlet valve and it never registered any voltage. What do I need to test next and how? Thanks!

Is there a way to find out what the voltage is so I can test the inlet valve properly with my voltage meter?
