Vinnie I for Model Number 106.58422700
Answer Vinnie, Yes it could be a faulty fill valve W10408179 the diaphragm or solenoid could be faulty and allowing water to flow through the system. The fill valve would be a good place to start.
THE TUBE IS CONNECTED BUT FOUND A THIN PIECE OF FOIL LIKE 2AND A HALF BY 2 AND A HALF UP ON THE EVAPORATOR AND THE CUTTING GRID BUT WHAT IS THIS AND IS THERE SOMETHING ELSE I CAN LOOK FOR THANKS DAVE
David G for Model Number GE AP4363816
Answer David, What is the issue, you didn't mention that. As for a 2X2 piece of foil, we have no idea, There should be nothing attached to the heater grid, thats where the ice falls and gets cut into cubes by the wire. The only thing attached to the evaporator should be the thermistor, and thaty should have a mounting clip. If you can gwt us a model number and a more precise problem explanation, we can help you out a lot better, Thanks
The reservoir that I was referring to is actually part number AP3594832 and is called a water pan. If we fill this pan manually with some water the noise (whooshing sound) stops. Replacing the Water Valve to this IceMaker has only helped in that the ice is now crystal clear instead of "airy".
Ausuml for Model Number ZDIS15CSSM
Answer Hello Ausuml. You have a leak at the new water valve. You will need to check the water lines and make sure they are good and tight. Pull on the water lines and see if they come out of the valve. They should be tight. Also, check and make sure the lines are not cracked. Hope this helps.
