I removed the belt from the pump. The pump is difficult to turn by hand. Would this indicate that the pump needs to be replaced?

Maytag performa washer does not spin. Water pumps out but clothes are very wet. All pulleys turn by hand. Removed pump no jams or broken parts. Soapy water enters pump and drains. No spin with new belts. Motor pulley is very hot. Motor frame is somewhat hot. Old drive belt smoked and smelled burnt.

Water begins dripping from left side of back after 7 or 8 minutes into cycle and continues. Total water leak per cycle is about a cup and half. There are no other symtoms, just the leak.

Washer will not pump out water on spin cycle. I've reached under and can spin the pulley, but it's not free and easy. that being said, it still had the belts and hoses attached. When running on spin cycle the drum does spin around but there is no water being pumped out and there is a smell of rubber burning. What do you suppose it is? Any help you can provide is great. thanks

My maytag washing machine is not draining. I determined the belt is very loose, but the question I have is does the pump suppose to spin free and easy without belt or does it have a resistance feel like a small motor with strong magnets?

After the washer goes through the spin cycle it leave about 2 to 3 inches of waster in the tub. It does not do this all the time but most of the time. Do I need to replace the pump?
