My Kenmore top loading washer timer will not engage the wash and rinse cycle until the timer knob is pulled out and held. If it is not held out by force, the cycle will continue and no washing nor rinsing will take place. Note: the timer will continue and only the spin cycle would be activated. Does the time knob or the timer or both need to be replaced?

The timer knob on my Sears Kenmore washing machine broke off and needs to be replaced. In the manual it says the model number for the part is 3353309. Wanted to make sure this is the correct part. Also, the inner medal part that broke off of the knob is still attached to the bolt that was behind the knob. Do I just turn that broken part to remove it and then replace the new knob? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I need to replace the knob for my washing machine. It is the knob for settings; perm press, cotton, delicate etc. It looks like this knob but the description is not the same. Is this the correct knob for my washer? Thank you.
