How can I remove the washer timer knob if it is stripped and will not turn to the left to remove it? I have a model 80 series washer and the knob is stripped. The manual for the washer states to remove the knob turn to the left.

Answer Hello T. Levins. Make sure the shaft is pressed in when you try to turn it. If so, then you will need to cut it off the shaft and you will need to replace the timer as well as the knob on the unit.

The timer knob on my Sears Kenmore washing machine broke off and needs to be replaced. In the manual it says the model number for the part is 3353309. Wanted to make sure this is the correct part. Also, the inner medal part that broke off of the knob is still attached to the bolt that was behind the knob. Do I just turn that broken part to remove it and then replace the new knob? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Answer Larry, The timer knob is part number 3362624 and to remove the old knob you would just unscrew the bas of the knob off of the shaft of the timer.

The knob for selecting wash cycle broke. What part # do I need to order and does Sears carry it? (Serial # on washer is CX1360583) It is a Kenmore Ultra Fabric Care Heavy Duty 80 Series. I know it is old; but, it works so good.
