Replace water filter still showing a replace (yellow-red) color. I am using 4396710 which I have used before.
Answer Deb, you'll need to reset the water filter status light after changing the water filter. Once reset it will change back to green. Thanks.
My brother cut the hoses at the filter housing because of a leak. Have a new housing but since both lines are 1/4 inch I don't know which is inlet and which is outlet. One line is 5/16 at the housing, but since it was cut on the1/4inch section I can't tell where it was originally connected. Housing is part number 2186443. Can you tell me which connection on the housing is the inlet from house water?
Answer Hello John,
Do not cut the new part for the installation. All you have to do is disconnect the water line to the door behind the kickpanel and follow the water line where it comes through the floor of the unit back to the water valve and disconnect it there. Pull the two water lines out from inside the unit and push the new lines through the floor. Connect the larger line to the water valve and the smaller line to the line going to the freezer door. If the silicone gets torn, you can remove it and put new silicone around the lines. If you cut the lines and splice in the fresh food section, you will continually have leaking issues with it until the part is installed properly.
