How are we suppose to attach the output hose the the valve? It looks like its just a push in and the line would come out without any effort.

In reference to the above part, a solinoid for the ice maker in a Kenmore, I can not stop the leak from the hose to the ice maker. This is the plastic tube that plugs into the solonoid valve at the rubber spacer or what ever it is. The stainless tube insert is in place. Help!

I am replacing a defective inlet valve PART NUMBER: 2182104 with AP3961809. This is what is recommended at the Kenmore Sears site However, the old part 2182104 had two connections which are both screw on connections. The lower connection on the AP3961809 is not a screw on any more, so how do I connect it? Also, am I correct that the lower connection in the photo is the water source (water in) connection and the upper is the connection to the ice maker (water out)?

The ice maker suddenly quit working. I changed the water inlet valve and it still is not producing ice. The freezer is working perfectly. There is water going to the valve and the ice maker arm is at the 'ON' position. What else should I check?

I have had problems with the ice maker producing ice cubes. I basically replaced the ice maker (believing the thermostat was bad). Still There is no ice production unless I actuallly pour water in the ice cube tray. My concern is that the Water Inlet valve is the problem... its part number is 2182104 which according to your website is now 2315576. This tested 170.0 ohms. Is this reading low?? I have cleaned the mesh filter inside and the water line runs clear water. I did not observe any ice frozen or blocking water into the cube tray.

I'm getting water in the freezer that eventually blocks the drain and after enough time the water runs into the fridge. I traced it back to water leaking (or spilling) from the fill tube that goes into the icemaker. The tube is all the way in the icemaker. It almost looks like there is too much water pressure and that's causing it to splash out. My question is this. Does the water inlet valve do anything to control the water pressure or is it simply a timer? If I back off the filler adjustment screw I still get the water in the fridge, but I get fewer ice cubes.
