Washer has begun to rinse with hot water. Temp control switch or inlet valve?
Answer Hello ddavis263. Test for power to the hot water valve. If there, replace the temp switch. If not there, replace the water valve.
How do I access the inlet water valve on this particular washer? I have ordered the new part.
Answer Hello Marcia. You will need to use a flat blade and release the clips under the front of the control panel and flip the panel backwards and unplug the lid switch. Then remove the two brass colored clips and slide the cabinet off the frame by pulling it forward. You can now access and replace the valve 3979346 on the unit.
What procedure do I use to remove the rear panel on this washing machine to access the mixing valve to check solenoids ?
Answer Hello Robert. Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the two screws in the back corners of the control panel securing the control panel. Pull the control panel forward and flip it backwards. Next unplug the lid switch and remove the two brass colored clips securing the cabinet to the back wall using a flat blade screwdriver to pry them out. Pull on the front of the cabinet and slide the cabinet off the frame of the washer. You can now access and replace the Valve 3979346. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps.
79090212010 Kenmore Electric range: My oven door is locked and I cant get into it. How can I get in to it? It is showing an error code F-90.
Answer Hello John,
First and foremost is to protect yourself from personal injury. Disconnect the unit from the power supply before removal of the main back and wear gloves. Reconnect to the power supply only long enough to perform testing and disconnect from the power supply again.
This type unit has to be pulled out from the wall and the back wall removed to access the door lock motor. You will have to remove the door lock motor bracket from the unit body and move the lever to unlock the door. The door lock motor 316464300, the temperature sensor 316490000, or the clock assembly 316557116 can be the root of the problem. The most probable cause is the door lock motor assembly. The sensor tells the clock the unit temperature and if it's been in self clean it will keep the clock from unlocking the door until the temperature has dropped below about 175°F for the customers' protection. As you can see, if the sensor is out of toleration, it can prevent the clock from unlocking the door. The last thing to consider is the clock assembly. The door lock assembly gets its' power from the clock assembly but is the last ditch effort toward repair. It is also the most costly part of the circuit. The F-90 code is a fault in the door lock circuit and, other than the harness, we have covered all of the components in the circuit.
Just in case the door lock assembly clears the issue of the locked door and the clock is still flashing the fault code, try this. With the door closed and the door lock assembly disconnected from the linkage, cycle the unit into the clean cycle for at least one full minute and cancel the clean cycle. If this doesn't clear the fault code, the clock will have to be replaced also.
How do you get the panel off to replace the new inlet valve?

Pull on the front of the cabinet and slide the cabinet off the frame of the washer. You can now access and replace the water valve 3979346. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps.
