No warm water. I get cold full flow. I get hot much reduced flow. Checked flow from inlet hoses fine and equal lots of flow. Screens clean. Suggestions.
If you are getting good water pressure from the hose and the screens on the water valve are clean but only very little hot water comes into the unit then you will want to replace the water valve.
I was given a whirlpool washer because mine quit working. I was told that you had to manually change the cycles on the machine, but when I tried to use it the cold water continued to run. So, I shut off the cold water and proceeded to use the washer with hot water. After initial filling, and agitation, the washer would not fill because I had shut off the cold water. In order to fill, I needed to turn back on, and then off after filling. Does this seem to be the problem with my washer? Water Intake valve? What's the chance that's the problem, if I order this part?
Answer Hello Stella. Based on the information you provided, for the timer not advancing, replace the timer. For the cold water issue, replace the valve.

Washer has begun to rinse with hot water. Temp control switch or inlet valve?
Answer Hello ddavis263. Test for power to the hot water valve. If there, replace the temp switch. If not there, replace the water valve.
How do I access the inlet water valve on this particular washer? I have ordered the new part.
Answer Hello Marcia. You will need to use a flat blade and release the clips under the front of the control panel and flip the panel backwards and unplug the lid switch. Then remove the two brass colored clips and slide the cabinet off the frame by pulling it forward. You can now access and replace the valve 3979346 on the unit.
What procedure do I use to remove the rear panel on this washing machine to access the mixing valve to check solenoids ?
Answer Hello Robert. Disconnect the power to the unit. Remove the two screws in the back corners of the control panel securing the control panel. Pull the control panel forward and flip it backwards. Next unplug the lid switch and remove the two brass colored clips securing the cabinet to the back wall using a flat blade screwdriver to pry them out. Pull on the front of the cabinet and slide the cabinet off the frame of the washer. You can now access and replace the Valve 3979346. Reinstall in reverse order. Hope this helps.
