Good afternoon, i have a similar problem to David as the drum wont spin just makes a spinning sound, drains as normal, could a part that causes the motor to spin be bad or the motor itself?

Hi, I replaced the motor coupling on my Roper washing machine about six weeks ago and it stopped spinning yesterday, is there anything I should look for that may cause this problem other than a faulty part?

I have a Kenmore washing machine- model number 80 series 23822100 type 111. Bought Nov.11, 2002. During agitating and spinning it is making a whining sound. It spins and drains. Can you tell me what could be causing this and how does one remove the agitator. There isn't a slot on the screw looking medal head which I can see in the center, about an inch from the top of the start of the agitator, down in the inside. Does this model have a drive belt. THANKS!

That does help, thanks. I am having a hard time removing the cabinet to check that part. Since it is a washer/dryer combo, are the screws on the bottom or what? Thanks

My washer does not spin every time. If I spin it by hand and then let the spin cycle end while its spinning&from me) it will spin when I start the cycle over. Best regards and thank you for any help you can provide.

When my washer goes to rinse cycle, the wash water hasn't all drained out, there is 5 or 6 inches of water left. It then starts the rinse cycle agitation. Does the rinse cycle add and remove water, or is my machine not functioning correctly? I was going to let the clothes soak in the rinse water for a while, but the water wasnt quite covering the clothes.

Replaced motor coupler, machine did not agitate or spin before and now it does, but there is a smell like burning rubber. Could I have pinched the motor coupler by not setting it at twelve o'clock before installing the drive motor?
