Good afternoon, i have a similar problem to David as the drum wont spin just makes a spinning sound, drains as normal, could a part that causes the motor to spin be bad or the motor itself?

Hi, I replaced the motor coupling on my Roper washing machine about six weeks ago and it stopped spinning yesterday, is there anything I should look for that may cause this problem other than a faulty part?

I have a Kenmore washing machine- model number 80 series 23822100 type 111. Bought Nov.11, 2002. During agitating and spinning it is making a whining sound. It spins and drains. Can you tell me what could be causing this and how does one remove the agitator. There isn't a slot on the screw looking medal head which I can see in the center, about an inch from the top of the start of the agitator, down in the inside. Does this model have a drive belt. THANKS!

That does help, thanks. I am having a hard time removing the cabinet to check that part. Since it is a washer/dryer combo, are the screws on the bottom or what? Thanks

Hello, My Whirlpool Washer agitates on all cycles just fine but is completely quiet and does not proceed to the pump & spin on any of the wash cycles? No sounds at all? I thought maybe the timer controls failed but manually advanced to pump & spin on all of the other wash cycles and no sounds or action at all? I had replaced the lid switch awhile back as it had begun to frequently fail and stop all action. so, what might it be as it still agitates? Thank you, Bill

Kenmore washer was not draining at all. Replaced door switch and now is draining. Ran a load of wash through and realized that washer is also not spinning fast enough to remove sufficient water. It sounds like it's spinning but clothes are too wet when the cycle ends. Also, not sure that it is agitating correctly. Have no idea what that problem might be.

I replaced my failed transmission (3360629) along with worn agitator dogs (Agitator Cam Repair Kit 285810), the corroded Drive Block (389140), the Clutch Kit (285785), and the Motor Coupling (285753A). Everything seemed to work fine, but I was getting some crumbs of the motor coupling on the floor. I chalked that up to some break-in wear, but 9 weeks later the coupling is destroyed. I've read online that silicone spray in the brake housing may be necessary, but I don't think it was stopping abruptly. Obviously I need to replace the coupling, but what else should I look for or replace? The entire brake assembly? Thanks in advance.

The washer won`t spin. It will agitate but will not spin. It used to make a loud noise on the spin cycle start and stop. It sounds like it is spinning and feels like it but does not. Everything else works fine. I had the lid switch checked. I am thinking now maybe the drive block? I read because of the noise issue and not spinning maybe that would be my next step? Thanks
