Washer squeels when going in to spin cycle.
Answer Hello Joe,
If the unit is squeeling when the pump is on before it actually spins then the pump would need to be replaced. If it only happens when the tub is spinning then it would more than likely be the brake 285792 that is not fully releasing.
If the pump is ok and the hoses connected to it are split or leaking how do you get new ones or how do you replace them. It does not show where those two hoses connect from the pump.
Answer Hello Orr,
The pump to tub hose part number is 285871 and the drain hose part number is W10096921. To access the hoses you would need to take the cabinet off unit. This is done by removing screw from rear of control panel and rolling the control panel to expose two clips that hold the cabinet in place. Remove the clips an lift cabinet off.
I can't remove the direct drive waterpump, how can I get it off?
Answer Hello Marv. If you have removed the clips, and the pump is stuck, you may need to use a large flat blade screwdriver and pry the pump from the unit.
My washer will drain while washing. When the water is too low. It will stop washing and refill. Then restart washing & draining ..... untill finish. Do I need to change the pump? Thanks
My washer is Whirlpool, the model is WP-46001
Answer Hello Leo. No, It sounds like the unit is siphoning out the water in the unit. Check and make sure there is only 6" of drain hose in the drain pipe. Also, make sure the drain pipe is 36" off the floor in height. You will need to check and make sure the drain hose has an air gap going into the drain pipe. If it is air tight, it will siphon.
Washer pours water in during last spin cycle. could this be a bad timer?
Answer Val, There should be two(2), 15 second sprays of water during the first two(2) minutes of the final spin cycle. If the water is still active during the remainder of the spin cycle, then yes, the timer is most likely at fault.
My washer makes a rumbling sound when it start to spin water out.
Answer Hello Mary,
In most cases when you get a rumbling noise when the unit spins it is a bad tub bearing 285203 that needs to be replaced.
My washer doesn't drain the water. It stops after the wash is done but it does not rinse or drain the water.
Answer Hello Maria,
You will want to make sure that there is nothing clogged in the drain pump that would cause the motor to not turn and allow unit to spin. If this checks ok then leave pump off motor and see if the unit will spin with pump off. If there is no noise at all you will want to also do a continuity check of the lid switch to make sure that it has continuity when lid is closed. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
