I turned on my dishwasher and everything was fine. I noticed that five minutes later it wasn't working. I opened it up and it was filled with water. I tried pushing the start/stop button and noticed now none of my buttons work. I checked the power supply and it is receiving power. Do I need to replace my control panel?
Answer Hello Hartsell,
Turn off the power to the dishwasher at the breaker box and remove the kick panel. Open the small metal box that contains the power connections for the unit and make sure none of the wire nuts are melted. If this checks good, remove the door liner and check the door switches with a test meter for continuity when the switches are activated. If this tests good, turn the power back on and test for voltage to the control board. If the voltage is getting to the control and nothing is getting out, replace the control board 99003616 for series 32 and below. 12002713 for series 32 and below. The series number is the first two digits of the serial number.
Can you check continuity on touch pad? Which circuit is the ground or hot wire on the touch pad circuits
Answer John, It doesn't quite work that way. Each "key" has two tracers (ie: the heavy wash cycle on the ribbon, you find tracer pin 9 and tracer pin 5, it would be an open circuit, press the heavy wash "key" and the circuit should produce approximately 10.000 ohms resistance). You didn't mention an issue with your dishwasher, but if some buttons don't work or operate intermittently, chances are very good you'll need to replace the control panel/keypad assembly 6-919824. We'll send you the information you'll need for testing the keypads as well as a lot of other information for testing the dishwasher.
The dishwasher will fill up,it doesn't run the cycle,it leaves the water in, and kicks off. You can press the start button again and it will show 2, as in minutes left, and it will drain.
Answer Hi Tammy. Use a volt/ohm meter part # TJMA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. It will be advantageous to find the supplied tech sheet inside the cabinet to aid you in the diagnosis. It allows you to put the unit in a diagnostic mode which brings up fault codes and tells you which circuit needs assistance. Look behind the kick plate as well if you need to. Then let us know the fault code so we can get the correct part # to you. Thank You.
DISHWASHER DOES NOT DRAIN AT END OF REGULAR CYCLE. HOWEVER IT WILL DRAIN IF AFTERWARD YOU CYCLE THE RINSE ONLY CYCLE.
Answer Kenneth, Have you checked the drain hose, for a "floating" obstruction, or kinks in the hose or connections. an easy check or repair, disconnect the drain hose from the plumbing, and ddrain the dishwasher into a large bucket. If all's OK, you'll need to remove the filter plate W10166788 and filter W10192799 to check the drain pump baffle 6-919119 If it is orange in color or the flappers are bent/curved you will need to replace it. Thanks and Good Luck
