Would you please tell me, how does the work of the defrost thermostat is related to that of the Timer in the defrosting process.
Apperently both work independently.
Answer Hello Victor. The timer starts the defrost cycle and the thermostat is a safety device there for protection to keep the heater from overheating and damaging the unit.
The freezer side it's not cooling, the refrigerator side seems to be working fine, the setting show be correct.
You will want to pull the rear wall off the freezer and check for the evaporator coil to see if it is frozen over. If so then you will want to check the defrost sensor to make sure that it is good. If faulty it would need to be replaced. The resistance of the sensor should be 5K ohms at room temperature.
