We love our Samsung Fridge ! we purshased it new at Lowes, now after 7 years the ice maker will not dump the ice and when it does it is only partial cubes, i believe this is a heater problem, so we are going to have to replace the Ice maker assembly, my question is -do we need the DA97-00258J Or the DA97-00258C ? and in the assembly does it house the heater that heats for a few secounds to allow the ice to all drop out ? we have soaked the tray with white vinagar to make sure there is no mineral and water stain build up thinking that it would then drop the frozen cubes, but no such luck, , WE just hate to replace the assembly and it not contain a heater to make for easier ice cube drop? please advise me on these two issues,,,thanks

Answer Linda, The icemaker does not incorporate a heater on it. This is a flex tray icemaker in which it will twist the ice out. The correct icemaker for this unit is DA97-00258C.

side by side fridge came with house we bought 2.5 yrs ago. about 6 months in, we noticed a little water on the floor. pulled everything out of freezer and verified drain plug was stopped up. defrosted -- cleaned out drain tube (i had similar problem with my old maytag, once i cleaned drain tube with warm water and bleach, no more problems).. but this samsung, within 3 months, water on floor again, and noticed ice forming on bottom of floor in freezer. thought maybe seals were bad, but they seal good (sometimes too hard to open the door). we have already replaced the fan motor but now the ice buildup on the bottom basket is so bad, its almost to the top of the basket at the rear of the freezer. we use the ice maker/water dispenser alot, and all the research i have been doing -- points to either the ice maker is faulty or the defrost heater is bad.

The water line to the fountain in the door freezes up. I can thaw it out with a hair drier blowing warm air to the same water reservoir behind the second drawer. Do I need to replace a heater or some other part ?
