We have a Samsung RF217ACPN fridge, freezer on bottom, french doors on top, bought in Feb/2011. Yesterday morning we discovered that all the food in the freezer had started to defrost and the ice cubes were all fused together. The door was properly closed since 6pm the night before. The temp read out was still showing the normal -2 degrees, which was clearly wrong. The fridge portion of the unit was normal and food was fine there. After some reading I tried unplugging the unit for a minute to reset the system, and after plugging in again the freezer temp read 46 degrees. After throwing out the food and cleaning the freezer, it did cool properly, is now making ice and seems to maintain temp so far. I'm of course worried this will happen again. Thoughts on the problem? I am fairly good with DIY repairs, but I would love help in knowing where to start. Thanks!

My freezer doesn't seem to be getting cold enough. The Icemaker is functioning properly but will not drop the ice. I found online where it's supposed to be between 0 and -12 degrees in the freezer. I ran the manual defrost and removed everything from the freezer. I took an outdoor thermostat and left it in there overnight. the coldest it has gotten is 16 degrees so far. the ice cubes are being frozen after many hours but it def doesn't seem like it's getting cold enough in there? Any thoughts or idea would be greatly appreciated.
