Appliance: Samsung Microwave SMH7187STG/XAA-0000
My Repair & Advice
Last week, my microwave didn't work, no light, no sound. When I open the door and closed strongly, it suddenly worked again.
This week, it stopped working and completely dead. I found a video on Youtube teaching how to disassemble Samsung Microwave and check 2 important parts:
1) Ceramic Fuse (15A or 20A)
2) Magnetron thermal fuse
I found 2 ceramic fuses, and 2 magnetron fuses behind the control board, 1 magnetron fuse is on the top of the microwave, after removing the cover. I used Ohmmeter to check if they are working. I discovered the magnetron fuse on the top was dead. It normally must be short (zero Ohm). I temporarily made it short by connecting two poles with a copper wire. Eureka! The microwave could work.
The problem then became easy. Purchase a new magnetron fuse to replace. I actually do not know which model I should buy until I searched appliancepartspros.com. Beginning with the microwave model Samsung SMH7187STG and then part name Thermostat (different name but image is the same).
The model I needed is DE47-20059B. Just add to cart, paid. This part shipped to my home after 4 days. I replaced the old one and finished.
