The microwave panel operates as normal. The door light and turn table work as normal. The timer stops the process, BUT, the food is cold!
Could you please offer a suggestion as microwave repair is foreign to me, usually it's cars!
You will want to check to make sure that the thermal fuse on the magnetron is good by checking to make sure that there is continuity. Also test the magnetron for resistance of <1 ohm. If the resistance reads .5 ohms to 1 ohm then it is good. If not then the magnetron is faulty and would need to be replaced.
I have a samsung otr microwave SMH9151STE and it powers on, but does not heat or rotate the table top. The clock, light, vent work. The last thing it was used for 5 mins for chicken pot pie lol.
THanks in advance,
Answer Hello Eric. You will need to check the door switches and make sure they are good. Also, check the H.V. circuit to see if any of the parts are damaged. Be careful as this is live power and can hurt or even kill you if you do not know what you are doing. Usually it is best for a certified tech to test these components on the unit. You should be fine testing the door switches in the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
