I recently moved into a home that requires a 4 prong plug. Purchased a new pig tail, installed power cord, came on for a few seconds and went off. Now machine will not power at up. I think I may have installed pig tail wires, red, white, black incorrectly. Will this mistake cause wire harness or terminal plug not to function? Have checked plug and fuse box switches. Ok. please help
Answer Hello Rick,
The red wire will go to one side terminal and the black to the other side. These are the only two that can be swapped out and not adversely affect the units' electronics. The white wire goes to the center terminal and if it is a four prong plug, the green wire goes to chassis ground, (the appliances' body). If the wiring was performed in any other fashion, the units' control board W10205839 will require replacement.
