The latch assembly on my gu2500xtp7 (dishwasher) feels loose as if there should be a spring somewhere in it. The door closes but feels loose as well. The dishwasher will not start. Please help, thank you. Also, shouldn't there be a rubber seal between the door and the unit? I could have sworn there was one when I bought the thing.
Answer Hello Ken,
The unit should have a door gasket W10542314. The door gasket is only available as a kit with the door strike. If the door gasket is missing, this is probably the whole issue since most dishwasher door latches feel "too loose" when the door is opened. Since the kit comes with the door strike, I would examine the strike on your unit closely and if it appears to be bent or rusting, replace it with the one in the kit.
Power is O K -- worked fine yesterday -- closed door no panel lights for cycle, etc. could it be door switch or circut board
With no lights coming on the display panel you will first want to check to make sure that there is 120 vac to the control board. If there is not 120 vac at the control board then you will want to check the thermal fuse for continuity. If there is no continuity then replace the fuse. If there is 120 vac then you will want to check to make sure that there is a good firm connection of the ribbon harness to the control board. If there is then the control panel would most likely be the cause of failure.
